The Building Blocks of Life
Before there were signs or planets, there were the Elements. Fire, Earth, Air, and Water are the raw materials of the universe. The Modes (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable) are how those materials move.
The 4 Elements
Fire
Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. Radiant, enthusiastic, and confident.
Earth
Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Practical, grounded, and sensual.
Air
Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. Intellectual, social, and objective.
Water
Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces. Intuitive, deep, and psychic.
The 4 Elements (Fuel)
The Elements describe your Temperament. They answer the question: What fuels you? Fire*: Fueled by inspiration and action. Earth*: Fueled by material security and results. Air*: Fueled by ideas and connection. Water*: Fueled by emotion and bonding.
The 3 Modes
Cardinal
Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn. They initiate change and lead.
Fixed
Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius. They stabilize and persist.
Mutable
Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces. They change and perfect.
The 3 Modes (Movement)
The Modes describe your Style of Action. They answer the question: How do you apply your energy? Cardinal*: Initiates. Starts the season. Fixed*: Sustains. Stabilizes the season. Mutable*: Adapts. Transitions the season.
